Critical Power Expo Interview with Michael Worry

The team at Critical Power Expo interviewed Nuvation Energy CEO Michael Worry, to learn what inspired him to start an energy storage solutions engineering firm, after 20 years of providing complex electronic design services to a broad range markets. Michael shared stories about the “Nuvation Garage,” an internal R&D center at Nuvation where engineers work on whatever they like, for the love of engineering.  Projects have included a battery-powered electric race car, an autonomously driving battery-powered beer keg, and combat robots that have seen extensive action on the robot fighting circuit.

Along the way, Nuvation developed a high degree of expertise with battery management systems for low and high-voltage applications, and created several generations of custom battery management systems for energy storage companies. Michael himself leads what he refers to as “an energy storage lifestyle” that made him an early adopter and evangelist for solar energy, electric vehicles, and battery energy storage.
