DistribuTECH, January 23-25, San Antonio, Texas – As engineering services providers to the grid energy storage industry, Nuvation Energy routinely works on projects that are on the leading edge of innovation. Visit us in the Ontario Pavilion, booth 1343 at DistribuTECH to learn what we are doing with utilities, system integrators, electric vehicle manufacturers, and energy storage companies to advance the adoption of energy storage.
Recent Projects Include:
Designing energy storage systems with used EV batteries
In 2016 Nuvation began collaborating with Nissan to re-purpose used EV batteries for stationary energy storage. Less than a year later we had a rack of used Nissan Leaf cells charging off the grid at night and discharging in the morning into electric vehicles in our Silicon Valley headquarters parking lot.
This achievement caught the attention of more than one EV manufacturer with a warehouse full of used EV batteries. Today Nuvation Energy and Spiers New Technologies are collaborating on the development of “second life” energy storage systems to serve the needs of multiple EV manufacturers.
Creating megawatt-scale energy storage systems
In November 2017 Nuvation Energy began designing a megawatt-scale energy storage system for a city in Sonoma County, California. We are managing the project, specifying the components, and working with technology partners on the engineering design and system integration. Drop by our booth for details!
Energy storage data logging
Come see our new cloud-based data-logging application in action on the show floor! Remote data-logging is one of a suite of energy management tools we have been adding to Nuvation BMS™, including remote alerts to your cell phone to notify you if there is a potential issue in the battery that requires attention. We’ll have these features running on the show floor in a fully functional miniature energy storage system. Stop by and check it out!
